According to the South China

with his buddies when a dog attacked him by nipping at his fingers and
face. He responded by pouncing on the dog and repeatedly biting him. The
man's fate was unknown
at the time of this writing.
On November 13, 2004, the Kansas City
Star reported a story of Saty, a German Shepherd police dog that
nearly lost an ear. Soty and his partner,
Officer David Magruder, were both
bitten while trying
to arrest a man who had committed a minor crime. The suspect began
punching Officer Magruder, who immediately called on Soty for help. When
Soty arrived and bit the suspect, the man bit back, nearly amputating
Soty's ear with his teeth. A Taser was finally used to subdue the
suspect.
According to CNN.com, on December 14,
2004, a Gainsville, Florida, man apparently punished his Jack Russell
Terrier, Lady, by allegedly biting one of her front paws. Police
arrested him and charged him with animal cruelty. He explained that
biting the dog was a way of training it not to bite. Duh!

thirty-three-year old man was charged with biting a police dog outside a
bar in Syracuse, New York. According to the Associated Press, Paul

August of 2001 a Winston-Salem, North Carolina, man by the name of Nakia
Miguel Glenn, suspected of driving under the influence, was apprehended
by a police officer, who asked if he could search the vehicle. A fight
broke out as the officer attempted to conduct the search, and he was

Another story from
www.DogsInTheNews.com
suggests that August of 2001 was an auspicious month for "man bites
dog:' A woman was walking her Scottish Terrier puppy, Alex, near her
Tallahassee, Florida, home. Another terrier named Holly was out in the
street and confronted the pair. Holly attacked Alex and locked her jaws
around Alex's head. Margaret Hargrove tried unsuccessfully to pry
Holly's teeth apart to release Alex. When that didn't work, Ms. Hargrove
got down on all fours and bit Holly on the back of the neck, Alex and
his mommy sustained minor injuries.
